Ben and Katie were married this past weekend at Springwood Center in Verona, PA. They live in NJ but traveled to Pittsburgh to enjoy and share this important day with family and friends. The morning was cold, the ground was covered with snow and it certainly didn’t look like a morning day in October. Katie and Ben mentioned during their speech to family and friends that many of the people that made their wedding happen were close friends and family and that they couldn’t be happier to have shared such an important event with them. They are both so sweet they even mentioned me during their speech and that made me the happiest photographer in the world. Here are some of the images from this beautiful wedding.
Springwood is a beautiful place for a wedding. They have so many alternatives for ceremonies and receptions. Of course, when is 30 degrees outside and there is snow everywhere choices are a bit limited but certainly didn’t affect the festivities.
Their delicious Square stacked burnt almond torte was from Prantl’s
Katie’s good friend, Rob, owns a tree service locally (Arborel Tree Service) and made the centerpieces from wood, by hand. The looked beautiful. Ms. Joan Jensen (Springwood florist) provided the beautiful floral arrangements. They were beautiful too and so creative. She took fall leaves and included them in her design. The Atrium in Springwood is a gorgeous place for a ceremony or reception, such beautiful natural light.Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe.Katie’s younger sister helping her get ready
Katie, you have the most perfect skinKatie and Ben opted for a “first look”. This allowed us to take pictures before their ceremony since we didn’t have a lot of time between the ceremony and reception. Everything worked out beautifully after that.I love this picture. I have to say this is not posed. Katie and Ben took a few seconds to let everything sink in.
And so did Katie’s sister. The start of a beautiful ceremonyIt was a bit chilly outside on the ceremony tent so guests kept warm by sitting really closeBen’s vows were touching yet REALLY funny at times.Emotions were running high , I believe Katie was trying very hard not to cry.
I think this is one of my favorite moments of the ceremony. These are Ben’s nephews trying to give them the rings. All of their face expressions are priceless.I love when a groom looks at his bride straight in the eye and promises to have and to hold, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish all the rest of his life.
After the ceremony, guests were asked to wait under the tent for the bride and groom to be introduced (Ben’s mom below)Can you spot the two pairs of eyes looking straight at the camera?Certainly one of my favorites of the nightOr this one. According to family and friends, Ben is a little camera shy…well, I am not so sure…Ben, you look awesome. While Katie was dancing with her dad, everybody spotted a little bug on her dress. He just wanted to be part of the celebration. Ben just wanted to assess the situation LOLBen’s sister, Jessica, giving her speech. It was very touching and also had very wonderful stories about Ben’s life before Katie.Oh yes, those are momma’s boys…Grady, Bennett and Gabe paying attention to their mom giving her speech.Laura also had very funny stories about her and her sister when they were little. I particularly loved the story of her wanting to play Star Wars with Katie and Katie’s friend. Since Katie would always be princess Leia with short hair and Katie’s friend would be princess Leia with long hair she was only allowed to play if she was Chubaka. I am still laughing.Katie’s parents enjoying Laura’s speechAfter dinner, guests danced to the sweet sounds of DJ QuietAlert (Seth Hufford).Really fun dancingAnd singingAnd, well this is just plain funCongratulations Katie and Ben. I wish you all the best in this new life together. Enjoy!
