A boudoir sessions is for every woman looking for an empowering and restorative experience. These sessions are a gift to yourself, they are a way to celebrate your inner and outer beauty but mainly, they are an experience that will leave you empowered and ready to conquer anything.
Don’t know how to pose? Not to worry – that is my job and I will make it my priority to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. You are not alone on this, here are some of the most frequently asked questions:
What if I am not very photogenic? There are no unphotogenic women, only bad photographers. There is beauty in every single woman and I am here to tell you that there are also better angles to photograph them. As a curvy woman myself, I’ve learned over the years that there are many ways to emphasize your attributes during a session, if that is what worries you, and if your curves are what you love the most about yourself, we will embrace them and show them off. Don’t fret, I am here to guide you every step of the way.
What will I wear? You will initially receive a questionnaire where we will talk about what you feel comfortable with, what are the things you love about your body and how to dress to accentuate those. I will also send you a PDF with suggestions on what and where to buy before for your session. Just give yourself plenty of time to order and for delivery of these items. If you don’t have it in the budget to purchase a few items, no worries – we will make the best of what you already have – I promise. Some of my best images are with a bed sheet (see above).
Can I do my own hair and makeup? Yes you can but this is an opportunity to pamper yourself. Is not everyday you have these done and my professional MUA knows the best makeup for these photos. Treat yourself.
Do I NEED to buy lingerie for the session? Not necessarily but it helps to pick one very special outfit but you can never go wrong with black undergarments (black bra/black panties). There is a gamma of garments you can easily use for our session, you just need to think a little outside the box: a woman’s button down shirt, a cardigan, a scarf, a leather jacket, stockings, high thigh sox, a cut off t-shirt, an over the shoulder sweater – you name it!
What type of lingerie photographs best? Confidence photographs well! So any lingerie that makes you feel confident and beautiful will photograph beautifully. If you feel daring and want to be photographed without lingerie, we can do that too! You decide.
Should I bring heels? YES! if they make you feel great and empowered.
What will I do with my images? My services include a printed album of your favorite images.
What if I don’t know how to pose? Don’t you worry, that is my job and I will pose you and capture you during candid moments as well. Our session will not be all pose pose pose, we will have fun, we will laugh and we will create beautiful images for you.
My skin is not perfect, should I worry about that? I would like to say that I am perfectly comfortable in my own skin, with my cellulite, with my stretch marks and wrinkles but I know myself and when I get my photograph taken, I like to apply a little filter to smooth my skin, we all do it right? The same applies to these sessions, my camera’s resolution is amazing and I can see the pores on your skin but the final result will have smoother textures. If you have a few blemishes, I will remove those because those are not part of you everyday. Now, with that being said, let’s not go too crazy and remove everything. Your laugh lines are there because you’ve had happy moments in your life, and although I will smooth them a bit, I will not make them disappear. Trust me when I say, your lines tell a story and we want to celebrate them.
How long will it take to get my images back? Your images will be edited within 10 days. Your boudoir book will take approximately 10 days as well, so please, if you are thinking about gifting your album to a special someone, allow yourself plenty of time.
