M Y B A B Y I wish I had more images of her as she is now: the young woman who still carries the light in her heart but wears it a little more subtly. The one who has opinions and quiet strength, who still, somehow, needs me, but not in the same way. I don't get to photograph her very often, she has long ago learned how to avoid being in front of mom's camera, but from time to time she asks me "Mom, take my picture" and I simply don't hesitate. It is her own way of telling me she wants to share the moment with me. My sweet girl, my young woman, my baby forever.

As teens grow and seek independence, it’s completely natural for them to shy away from photos with their parents. They’re in a phase of self-discovery and often prefer to avoid being the focus of attention.

However, it’s important for parents to remember that, even though their teens might not love the idea now, those family portraits become more valuable as time goes on.

In years to come, when your children are adults and perhaps starting families of their own, they’ll look back with immense gratitude for the memories captured during this time.

I know I would give anything for more photos of me with my grandmother who passed away almost a year ago.

How I want all my clients to feel after I photograph them ha!

I wanted to introduce myself since it is #fridayintroductions

My name is Katia and I've been a wedding and portrait photographer since 2009. I started my career as a photographer in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Austin, TX about 9 years ago.

It's hard for me to sing my own praises but I know a lot about photography without knowing all the technical lingo - I just have such horrible memory (unless is wedding day, then I remember everyone's names until the clock hits midnight), oh and English is not my first language.

I think I would be the best person to write a photography book called "Photography for Dummies if English is not your first language" ha ha!

I am a hugger! Yes, if I meet you for the first time and I feel a lean, I will hug you - you've been warned.

I've never met a stranger. I LOVE talking to people and learning about them but you will often find me snuggling on our couch in the comfort of my home - Yes, I know, I am a walking contradiction.

My toxic trait is I think I can sing, but I am just loud and my voice carries.

I love dogs, specially boxers so I've been volunteering for @austinboxerrescue for 8+ years and I've meet so many kind people there.

I've been married for 19 years guys!!!Our anniversary is coming up @luisbonrock - wink wink cough cough.

Happy Friday Y'all <--- see what I did there, don't ask me to do that in person because it will not sound right ha!
